Lexia Attorneys Keilaniemi

Lexia’s new branch in Keilaniemi supports the firm’s strategy. Convenient transport connections and proximity to growth companies enable even better service than before. CEO Kimmo Oila welcomes new clients: “You can forget about searching for parking spaces in central Helsinki.”

Lexia Attorneys is expanding its operations in the Helsinki metropolitan area by opening a new branch in Espoo’s Keilaniemi, at Finago Tower (Keilaniementie 1). Keilaniemi is one of Finland’s most significant business and commercial hubs, home to the headquarters of many major corporations as well as numerous growth companies.

Lexia’s CEO Kimmo Oila explains the expansion as a client-driven move.

“Having a branch in Keilaniemi enables us to serve clients quickly and face-to-face, without the need for them to travel to central Helsinki. At the same time, the new branch saves part of our staff members’ commuting time. Parking should be easier than in the city centre, and public transport brings you right to our door,” he says.

Keilaniemi is adjacent to Otaniemi, which hosts Finland’s largest start-up community and the Western Uusimaa District Court. This makes Keilaniemi a natural location for Lexia’s expansion. The firm’s Helsinki office will continue to operate as before.

The new branch supports Lexia’s strategy to reach new, modern companies. Kimmo Oila estimates that, in addition to Keilaniemi and Otaniemi, the areas of Tapiola, Lauttasaari and Ruoholahti also host a large number of growing Finnish businesses. Their success is a prerequisite for Lexia’s own growth.

“Lexia only grows if our clients grow and succeed. We believe that our Keilaniemi branch will help these companies better than if our law firm operated solely in central Helsinki.”

From the client’s perspective, location matters, says Kimmo Oila. However, he emphasises that time will tell how important local service will be. At the very least, searching for parking spaces and dealing with traffic jams in central Helsinki can now be forgotten.

Lexia provides growth companies with comprehensive legal support, from establishment to internationalisation and scaling up to unicorn status. Lexia also helps companies find funding when needed and assists with the legal aspects of funding rounds.

“We also offer extensive intellectual property protection services, so our clients can focus on their core business,” Kimmo Oila notes.

Lexia wants to be a trailblazer

The new branch strengthens Lexia’s position as a modern, business-oriented law firm that combines top legal expertise with deep business understanding. Kimmo Oila highlights Lexia’s capabilities in utilising artificial intelligence and commercialising technology.

“Lexia is, and wants to remain, a trailblazer and a boundary breaker in the legal sector. We strive to understand how our clients generate revenue, so we can help them in their own competitive environments,” he says.

“We have exceptional capabilities in leveraging AI and a profound understanding of commercialising technology. Lexia has contributed to the development of several legal tech tools, and we understand the major transformation taking place in the business world. Through our international networks, we can assist in over 140 countries.”

The operating environment has been transformed, as technology sector clients are well aware.

“The legal sector is changing rapidly as well. Clients have so far been somewhat cautious in their demands towards law firms, but supply always follows demand. Especially technology clients are already at the eye of the storm of change, and there’s no turning back.”

Kimmo Oila encourages growth companies to seek help boldly.

“If you’re wondering about change and want support from next-generation legal services, it’s worth trying Lexia. I believe you’ll be pleasantly surprised,” he concludes.

Lexia employs over 60 experts and has offices in Helsinki, Espoo (Keilaniemi), Turku, Tampere and Oulu.
