Expertise and Practices
I advise clients extensively on legal matters related to ESG. Corporate responsibility has expanded due to the EU regulations, and it applies to all areas of law. As ESG regulation evolves, I help companies ensure that their operations and contractual relationships comply with the new legal requirements, particularly regarding supply chain responsibility and due diligence obligations. I also assist in contract and dispute resolution matters related to ESG, where sustainability issues are increasingly relevant. ESG is not just a regulatory issue but an integral part of corporate risk management and strategic decision-making. The Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD or CS3D) integrates sustainability requirements into contractual terms throughout the entire value chain of Finnish companies.
I also advise clients on corporate law matters, provide guidance to the board of directors, and act regularly as the secretary of the board meetings. In addition, I support companies facing insolvency and over-indebtedness and assist in related proceedings, such as corporate restructurings, voluntary debt arrangements, and liquidations. I regularly act as an administrator in bankruptcy estates and corporate restructuring proceedings. I have experience advising debtors, creditors, and other stakeholders in both domestic and international insolvency cases.
Furthermore, I counsel clients on all aspects of employment law, including employment-related assignments in corporate transactions and employment disputes. My expertise includes interpreting employment contracts, resolving employment disputes, and managing restructuring situations.
I also have experience advising on wealth management and asset protection, particularly in international marriage-related assignments, as well as estate and inheritance planning. My diverse background enables me to provide comprehensive and client-oriented legal services.
Professional Development and Legal Expert Work
Additionally, I am committed to continuous learning and self-improvement to provide up-to-date and innovative legal advice. This approach ensures that our clients receive the best possible service tailored to their individual needs. I also teach the future generations of lawyers in insolvency law at the University of Helsinki in Swedish. Teaching is inspiring, as it brings new perspectives to my own work.
I am also a member of the Finnish Bar Association’s insolvency law expert group. The Finnish Bar Association’s legal expert groups prepare the association’s policy statements on legal matters, and their members are often invited to parliamentary hearings on legislative initiatives. Approximately 125 attorneys participate in these groups, representing top experts in their respective fields.
